Windows 8 OS broke the mark of 200 million licenses sold, The Verge said, citing the statement of Microsoft Executive Vice President of Marketing Tami Reller.
Reller did not specify whether the figure includes sales of Windows RT - version of Windows 8 designed for tablets with processors on the ARM architecture.
The pace of sales of Windows 8 lags behind of the Windows 7's, the previous system of Microsoft, which was released in 2009. "7" after a year from entering the market sold 240 million licenses.
