Windows 8 Sales Reached 200 Million Licenses

Windows 8 OS broke the mark of 200 million licenses sold, The Verge said, citing the statement of Microsoft Executive Vice President of Marketing Tami Reller. 

Microsoft Releases New Windows 8 Update

Microsoft introduced GDR3 update for the OS Windows Phone 8. The updated OS will be available in several weeks.

GDR3 will support larger screen sizes (5- and 6-inch ) with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The support of Full HD displays will allow to place on the WP8-smartphones desktop up to 6 tiles instead of four.

The developers have reported that the new Driving Mode will enhance the safety of WP8-smartphones while driving. When you use your smartphone's Bluetooth the new mode will automatically reject incoming calls and messages. It will also be possible to respond automatically  to messages with the specific text entered by the user in advance.

Wait for New Surface Tablets From Microsoft in September

On September 23 Microsoft will introduce the second generation of its Surface tablet, The Verge said in its publication. The presentation, invitations to which have already sent out to IT-journalists will be held in New York.

Steve Ballmer Leaves Microsoft

Microsoft has reported that Steve Ballmer will leave the post of Chief Executive Officer  during the next 12 months. Addressing the company's staff, Ballmer said that he would leave it as soon as his successor was found.
