Microsoft has reported that Steve Ballmer will leave the post of Chief Executive Officer during the next 12 months. Addressing the company's staff, Ballmer said that he would leave it as soon as his successor was found.
Ballmer called his "retirement" to be right as it happens just before the final transformation of Microsoft into a "successful company of devices and services." The company needs a new CEO to finish it right.
The Special Committee will guide Ballmer's resignation process. Steve Ballmer will remain a major shareholder of the private company after the resignation. He has worked as the Head of Microsoft
for 13 years
and in the software industry - for 33 years.
