Apple cannot do without Samsung as it is the supplier of key components for its smartphones and tablets. And Samsung really does not want to lose such a large customer. But it does not prevent two producers from ongoing patent war.
Many years ago, when the Samsung Galaxy product line just started to gain popularity, Apple «invited» Samsung to court and the company's legal costs amounted to about $60 million. And now Apple requires Samsung to recoup some of this amount and pay it $22 million. And the decision on this matter should be taken on January 30 next year.
Samsung has already suffered one big defeat from Apple, as a result of which proved to be of more than a billion dollars. A little later, the amount of compensation has been reduced to $450 million, but as a result of another Samsung losing in the courtroom it grew by $290 million. Now Koreans owe Apple about 740 million dollars. So today's 22 million is a drop in the sea. But a principle drop. And hardly Samsung wants to give the money without a fight.
Patent war between Samsung and Apple seems to never end. And the latter has already announced that the new Koreans gadgets illegally use technology owned by Apple .
